University of Calgary Student Caller Application Form

The Student Calling Program is the core for telephone fundraising at the University of Calgary, and is committed to providing an excellent opportunity for University employment for eligible current students. The Student Calling Program communicates with alumni and community members on the phone in a respectful and professional manner to nurture a continuous and positive pattern of giving at the University of Calgary.


The Student Caller

  • is responsible for conducting tele-fundraising calls with University of Calgary alumni to secure annual donations to support areas of need, such as scholarships, bursaries, research programs, enhancements to or the creation of new learning spaces on-campus and more
  • acts as an ambassador of the University of Calgary and demonstrates courtesy, tact, and professionalism
  • is expected to work a minimum of two (2) shifts per week
  • brings positivity and enthusiasm to the role, a strong passion and knowledge of the UCalgary, and a willingness to be trained for success

Job Profile

  • We accept applications year-round, however our primary hiring periods occur at the beginning of every academic semester (early September, January and late April)
  • Hours of Operation:
    Monday to Thursday (6:00PM – 9:00PM)
    Saturday (11:00AM – 2:00PM)
    (1:00PM – 4:00PM)
  • Minimum hours – 6 per week, Maximum hours – 22.50 per week
  • Starting wage: $12.20
  • On-campus location (Olympic Volunteer Centre at the McMahon Stadium)
  • Two nights of mandatory and comprehensive paid training


  • Must be a current student registered in a University of Calgary program
  • Great telephone mannerisms, communication and active listening skills
  • Sense of pride and affinity for supporting the University of Calgary through fundraising
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment
  • Naturally personable and positive
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, dependable and demonstrates willingness to learn
  • Fundraising experience is an asset but not required
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
