Donate to Surgical Oncology – The Jennifer Gardiner Chair Fund

Jennifer Gardiner was a force of nature in Calgary. Her incendiary spirit and indomitable zest for life inspired so many people as she fought bravely and reached out to encourage others to "live life fiercely and out loud".

Colon cancer claimed "Jen Unplugged" in February 2014 at age 48, but her colourful and explosive energy and her commitment to help others afflicted by cancer live on through The Jennifer Gardiner Chair in Surgical Oncology endowment.

This endowment at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary will help develop new research in cancer surgery in Calgary and Southern Alberta, building on the existing leadership of the Departments of Oncology and Surgery. Through the recruitment of a clinical scientist who will advance the translational aspects of surgical oncology, the fund will help in the development of new treatments and lead improvements in cancer surgery to ensure that the best surgical treatments are available for better cancer patient outcomes.
