Donate to the E. Lisa Panayotidis Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Interdisciplinary Research

Dr. Lisa Panayotidis joined what was then the Faculty of Education in 1997 as a post-doctoral fellow after completing her doctoral degree at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in art history and fine art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a Master of Arts in art history at York University. Throughout her career Dr. Panayotidis received several awards including the CAFE Publication Award for her book Provoking conversations on inquiry in teacher education and the English-Language Article Prize for her article The mythic campus and the professorial life.

In life, Dr. Panayotidis showed a deep interest in examining contemporary art practices and the social and cultural function of art and artists. This led her to collaborate with numerous professional and community stakeholders concerned with improving critical art pedagogies and interdisciplinary curricula in the classroom. It is in this spirit we wish to create a collaborative effort towards the securement of an endowed fund in her memory.

All gifts will be matched until April 29th, 2017. And most importantly, donating to this particular fund will ensure Lisa’s memory will be sustained at the University of Calgary.
