UCalgary Together

In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to connect. As tutors, our preservice teachers are supporting students and their families as they engage with a new educational landscape. This is just another example of the incredible partnerships that exist between the University of Calgary and the community it serves.

The Werklund School of Education is coordinating online tutors for K-12 students in need of extra support during the remainder of the school year. Through this volunteer placement, preservice teachers will be matched with students in grades K-12, whose parents have identified a specific tutoring need. Tutors will provide individualized support, drawing on the Alberta Programs of Study as well as content knowledge and strategies in teaching and learning. As a volunteer tutor Werklund School students will directly support a K-12 student's academic success while developing their own skills as an educator.
