Libraries and Cultural Resources Impact Fund
Libraries and Cultural Resources (LCR) is the heart of the University of Calgary, encompassing the University of Calgary Libraries, Archives and Special Collections, the University of Calgary Press, Nickle Galleries, Library and Archives, the Founders' Gallery at The Military Museum, and the University of Calgary Copyright Office.
This broad portfolio is a hub of activity for UCalgary, responsible for important initiatives that affect the discovery and research activities of our entire campus.
LCR is a place where our students, researchers, and community convene to learn, solve problems and create new knowledge. LCR is committed to delivering a unique university experience, offering students (off-campus and on), researchers, educators, and the public the services they need to enhance the discovery and innovation process.
Your support of the Libraries and Cultural Resources Impact Fund allows us to be nimble and respond to priorities that help us better serve our campus, as they emerge. Funds can support a variety of activities, with a focus on the student experience; such as expansion to the Personal Librarian program, which matches students online to librarians who specialize in their field of study; enhancements to LCR's physical and digital spaces; technological advances to improve access, such as the new incoming chatbots; the creation of experiential learning opportunities for students through internships; and K-12 outreach and summer camp programs, which expose the best of our collections to young enthusiastic minds.
